Americans with Disabilities Act Guide: Introduction
This is a selective guide to assist legal research involving discrimination prohibited by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Emphasis has been placed on Michigan and federal resources held at the Thomas M. Cooley law library locations. This guide is meant to act as a gateway to additional sources and information and is not comprehensive in scope. Annotations provide brief descriptions and do not purport to serve as critiques or endorsements of the titles’ contents or authority.
The guide is organized according to the topics listed to the left, in the guide outline. First, it covers federal and Michigan law. After that, the emphasis is on secondary sources--treatises, guides, study aids, forms, commercial databases, and internet resources.
In the sections of the guide focusing on print materials, the "location" provides the call number for a work. Clicking on the title takes a user to the relevant entry in the catalog. Where possible, guide sections about statutes link to the appropriate law.
Please contact us if you have any questions or need any further guidance. Being asked for reference help is no bother--it's why we're here.
