This guide seeks to provide an overview of each ALR series. It also refers to additional resources which enhance the use of this important legal research tool.

The guide is organized by the topics listed to the right. You may navigate either by clicking on the sections of the outline or by using the tabs above. The guide begins with an overview and history of American Law Reports and then moves on to the most commonly-used, main ALR series, and then proceeds to discuss the federal series and the international series. Following this, the guide contains a discussion of the ALR finding aids, the way this resources fits into the overall West research system, and the options for finding ALR sets online.
